Not the other way around.
In 1990 our founder, David Whitt, was laid off soon after moving to South Florida. He started selling mobile computers and barcode scanners on his own. He saw quickly that the software is what makes the hardware useful, so he wrote his own warehouse management system. That was the start of Wireless Data Systems.
We have worked the same way since: listen, learn, adapt. That is how we ended up in elections, cable installation and cruise lines.
Today we start every customer on a base system, one for warehousing and one for elections, with years of field changes built in. It covers most of what most operations need. We customize from there, which keeps your cost down.
Before we show you the software, we learn your operation. Your account manager keeps doing that through setup and support.
Your own copy of the application, your own URL and your own database. Nothing is shared.
Start on the base system. Learn what fits and what does not. Then we customize.
A dedicated account manager who knows your operation, plus regular status calls for questions and updates.
New screens, new modules and faster processes in the base system reach you free.
Our systems are built to change quickly and affordably. If we can resell a change, we discount it or do it free.
Every lookup screen has the same layout. Learn one and you know them all.
Search and sort on every column. Reorder or hide columns. Export from any page.*
Manage locations, items and users. See current inventory, and the chain of custody for every scan.
*We are updating a few older lookups. Most have these features today.

Live, visual dashboards for each process. See which sites are done, which are behind and what is still out.
Menus can be set per role or user, so people only see the functions they use.
Barcode scanning is the main input. Where a scan is not possible, buttons replace typing to cut errors.
A wrong scan shows a clear message and plays a loud sound. The user acknowledges it before going on. That matters on a noisy floor.
Runs in any modern browser, with nothing to install. Works with most scanners and handhelds.*
*RFID requires specific devices. Some scanner setup is usually needed.

Tell us how your operation runs. We will show you the parts that fit.
